TinyChats Agent Side Panel is a browser extension used by authorized support agents to access and manage live customer chat operations within the TinyChats platform.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension processes, why it is needed, and how it is handled.
1. Purpose of the extension
The TinyChats Agent Side Panel is designed for a single purpose: to allow authorized support agents to securely sign in, receive and manage live customer chat conversations, review attachments, transfer conversations, and receive operational notifications while working in the browser.
2. Information the extension processes
The extension may process the following categories of information as part of its intended support workflow:
- Authentication information: agent login credentials, tenant access token, and session tokens required for authenticated access.
- Personally identifiable information: customer names, account-related identifiers, agent names or usernames, and contact-related information shown in the support workflow.
- Personal communications: live chat messages between customers and support staff, and internal support messages used for operational coordination.
- Website or application content: customer conversation details, queue and assignment information, attachment metadata, and related support context.
3. How the information is used
The extension uses this information only to support its operational purpose, including:
- verifying tenant access
- authenticating authorized agents
- loading queue and active conversation data
- displaying customer chat content to the assigned support user
- sending replies and support actions
- transferring or closing conversations
- handling attachments
- showing operational alerts and notifications
The extension does not use this information for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or unrelated analytics.
4. Local storage
The extension stores limited information locally in the browser to support normal operation, such as tenant access token, authenticated session state, temporary draft content, and extension preferences or operational state.
This local storage is used only to keep the side panel functional across browser sessions and to improve usability for authorized agents.
5. Data sharing
The extension communicates only with authorized TinyChats services needed for its operation, including the TinyChats API and realtime messaging services hosted by the organization.
The extension does not sell personal data.
The extension does not transfer user data to third parties except where necessary to provide the approved support workflow or where required by law.
6. Remote code
The extension does not use remotely hosted executable code. Its functional code is bundled within the extension package.
7. Notifications
The extension may display browser notifications for operational purposes, including chat activity, assignment changes, reconnect issues, and other support events requiring agent attention.
8. Data retention
The extension itself is not the system of record for customer support data. Any long-term retention of chat data, account context, or attachments is governed by the TinyChats platform and the organization’s internal data retention policies.
Locally stored browser data may remain until cleared, the session expires, or the extension is removed.
9. Security
The extension is intended for use only by authorized users. Access to chat functionality depends on authenticated credentials, tenant-scoped access, and platform-side authorization controls.
Users are responsible for protecting access to their workstation, browser profile, and account credentials.
10. Your choices
Authorized users may stop use of the extension at any time by logging out, removing the extension, or clearing browser extension storage.
11. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or product changes. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
